As part of phase 2 of the Celtic Collections website design, J.T.S. Design, Inc. was tasked with setting up an online store to fulfill the client’s e-commerce needs.
The online store was powered by OpenCart, an open source e-commerce solution that includes a shopping cart, customer registration, order history, wish list, and downloadable products. OpenCart is written in PHP and integrated with a MySQL database. The store used Authorize.net as the payment gateway for processing credit cards. An SSL certificate provided by Network Solutions was also installed on the server for secure transactions. Lastly, a total-based shipping module was installed to calculate shipping rates based on the order total.
For the design, we created a skin which, while it reflected the branding, differentiated the store from the main website.
